Thailand’s late-2026 calendar creates three useful planning windows for Vietnamese tourism businesses. King Chulalongkorn Memorial Day falls on Friday, October 23 and connects with the weekend. Thailand’s National Day and Father’s Day falls on Saturday, December 5, with Monday, December 7 observed as a substitute holiday. Finally, December 31 and January 1 connect with the weekend to create an effective four-day New Year break.
Three holidays, three different contexts
The October weekend is better suited to a short trip. Early December carries a family context, while New Year is a peak season with much stronger competition among destinations, hotels and airlines.
Brands should not use the same message for all three periods. Content needs to reflect trip length, travel companions, budget and relevant experiences.
Questions to answer before communicating
- Is the destination suitable for a three- or four-day trip?
- What do Thai travellers need to know about flights, payments and language?
- Which benefit is strong enough to compete during New Year?
- Where should content appear so that local users can verify it?
Localization matters more than translation
A Vietnamese article translated into Thai may still miss local reader priorities. The story angle, imagery, promotional tone and media format should be adapted to the market.
